"Professor Taina is single handedly my favourite person I've met during my time in America. She managed to reunite me with my passion for writing, a skill I was afraid I had lost a long time ago. She is so enthusiastic about what she does and engages the whole class in such a brilliant way. I could truly not say enough good things about her. The content was engaging, the assignments were beyond fun and her method of teaching is the perfect balance of letting us figure things out for ourselves and helping guide us through it. Her support has been so valuable. Overall, my favourite part of this semester has been coming to her class."

"Taina is one of the best teachers I have ever had. A less knowledgeable teacher would stuff this class full of quizzes and tests that do not measure mastery, but which only measure one's ability to cram or have a particularly good day where they happen to remember some more of the material. Taina understands that the way to teach English is to make people care about English, to immerse themselves in their subjectivity and to flesh out that subjectivity to gain the vocabulary and skills to unpack their intuitions to grow as writers. Taina guides students to their own conclusions about their writing, gives salient feedback, and encourages a dynamic within the class that not only manages a lot of students masterfully, but motivates them to participate. I have never seen a teacher that motivates students to engage more than Taina, and they do it through methods that makes the class relaxing, but not too easy. As someone who may go into education, I have learned things about writing AND teaching from them."

“Taina was one of the best teachers I have ever had which was essential to my learning in this class. I went into it thinking I would already know everything which was not the case and even through the new concepts, she kept it lively, interesting, engaging, and fun so I was encouraged and wanted to learn more. She was also so flexible and supportive which removed the majority of the stress I felt from this class and she made me feel capable of success every moment. Her lectures had so much energy that they didn't feel like lectures, they felt more entertaining and she used examples relevant to her students' lives so concepts were more clear. She is so friendly, kind, and generous and it was a pleasure taking her class."
